Delving into the canyon, which reaches a depth of 200 meters and nestles between two imposing mountains, allows you to intimately connect with the rhythms of untouched natural life.

You will be collected by an air-conditioned vehicle during the morning hours, precisely between 08:30 and 09:15, depending on your hotel’s location. The starting point is the BESKONAK area, nestled at the base of the Taurus Mountains, approximately a 50-minute drive from Side. Following a brief presentation by our multilingual guides, which lasts around 10 minutes, we set forth on our journey toward the captivating SELGE ANCIENT CITY. This historical site is situated 11 km away from the peak of the Taurus Mountains, which stands at an impressive elevation of 1400 meters.

Throughout the excursion, you’ll have numerous opportunities to capture stunning photographs at notable locations like ADAM ROCKS, KÖPRÜLÜ CANYON, KOPRUCAY, the historically rich ANCIENT SELGE, and uniquely captivating scenic viewpoints. Our knowledgeable guides will offer insights into the region’s history and geography, ensuring you miss none of the significant sights.

The history of the area dates back to 2000 BC, with the emergence of the ANTIQUE LYDRA kingdom. Over time, it came under the influence of various empires, including the Macedonian Empire under Alexander the Great, the Seljuk Empire, the Roman Empire, and the Ancient Greek and Ottoman Empires. The impressive ancient theater, which dates back to 2200 BC, bears testament to this history. The KINGDOM of LYDRA flourished, with its population soaring to 20,000 at its pinnacle. The locally produced goods were transported to ASPENDOS, PERGE, and ANTIQUE SIDE via the bridge river as a vital trade route.

Following your exploration of SELGE, which promises unforgettable moments, a refreshing river swim awaits you. Subsequently, savor a delectable local lunch prepared by our skilled chefs. The restaurant boasts a panoramic view of the Taurus Mountains and the adjacent Köprücay River.

Post-lunch, we venture to TAZI CANYON, Turkey’s largest canyon. This natural wonder stands 410 meters tall and spans 40 meters in width. Shaped during the glacial age, it’s a designated WORLD HERITAGE site and enjoys first-degree protection. The summit of the TOROS mountains offers an astonishing panorama that’s sure to leave you awe-inspired.

On the return journey, a delightful pause for local tea and coffee, accompanied by breathtaking views in our village, adds a final touch to the experience. Our journey concludes between 18:00 and 18:30, as we safely transport you back to your hotels.
